Verify that your environment meets the system requirements for UNIX file system archiving configured with the post-archiving rule to stub files after archiving. If post-archiving delete is selected, the following system requirements are not applicable. It is supported on all platforms.
Operating System
Deprecated
The File Archiving solution for Mac OS file servers is deprecated in this version of Commvault software. For more information, see Obsolescence Policy.
Effective Release
Long-Term Support Release 11.40
Effect of Deprecation
Commvault Platform Release 2024E LTS (11.36) will be the last supported version for File Archiving for Mac OS. Customers can still use this agent per the obsolescence policy.
Important
Use the most recent version of the operating system that is listed. The Commvault software fully supports the most recent version of an operating system, until the vendor ends support. More recent versions of the Commvault software might not install on operating systems that are not supported by the vendor anymore. For information about the support lifecycle of an operating system, contact the vendor.
AIX
Data protection on Logical Partitioning (LPAR) and Workload Partitioning (WPAR) is supported.

Solaris
Important
-
On Solaris computers, the operating system must be installed with at least the user level software option selected.
-
Install the file archiver agent on the global zone. You cannot install the file archiver agent on a non-global zone. However, you can use the global instance of the file archiver agent to archive data on a non-global zone. For a comprehensive list of supported components, see UNIX Virtualization.

Clustering
If clustering is supported by the operating system, you can install the software on a cluster. For information about supported cluster types, see Support for Cluster Configuration.
