Use the Custom Configuration to Add Azure Apps

If you do not want to use the Commvault hosted multi-tenant apps configured via express configuration (which is recommended), you can use the custom configuration option.

Before using the custom configuration, you must register the Azure app for OneDrive for Business with Azure AD. You can either perform the app registration manually on the Azure portal or you can use the configuration helper tool to automate the app registration.

To configure multiple OneDrive for Business apps based on geographic locations, create Azure security groups with dynamic membership rules based on geographic attributes, and then create region-specific storage and OneDrive for Business apps.

Configure up to 5 single-tenant apps via custom config for better backup and restore performance.

Procedure

1. Register the Azure app by using one of the below options:

   • Register the Azure App for OneDrive for Business with the Configuration Helper Tool.

   • Register the Azure app for OneDrive for Business with Azure AD.

2. Create a Conditional Access Policy for OneDrive for Business Azure Apps

3. Create a OneDrive for Business app.
