You can add additional cartridges to an existing virtual tape library (VTL).
Procedure

From the navigation pane, click Virtual Libraries.
The Configured VTLs page appears.

Click the View button for the VTL to which the cartridges must be added.
The VTL Information page appears.

Click the Add VCartridge button, displayed under the VCartridge Information area.
The Add VCartridge dialog box appears.

From the Storage Pool list, choose the backup data storage pool to which the cartridges must be associated.

This is not the default pool.

In the Number of Cartridges box, type the total number of cartridges that must be added.

If the number of cartridges is greater than one, then the label will be of the following format:
LTO000
For example, if the number of cartridges is 2, then the labels for the newly created cartridges will be LTO000L6 and LTO001L6. If WORM is selected, then the labels for the newly created cartridges for our example will be LTO000LU and LTO0001LU.

If the number of cartridges is one, then the label can be a maximum of 32 characters.

Alphabets a-z, A-Z and numbers 0-9 are accepted as label/prefix.
For example, if the number of cartridges is 4, then the labels for the newly created cartridges will be LTO000L6, LTO001L6, LTO002L6 and LTO003L6. If WORM is selected, then the labels for the newly created cartridges for our example will be LTO000LU, LTO0001LU, LTO002L6U, and LTO003L6U.

If necessary, configure additional options as described in Add Cartridges.

Click Submit.
The newly added cartridges are displayed under VCartridge Information.
