Use this dialog box to set additional settings for the selected component. Additional settings are advanced options that can be used to perform troubleshooting and other environment specific configurations. Additional Settings can be added to the following CommCell entities:

Additional settings created for this component are displayed in this dialog box.

Name
Displays the name of the additional setting.

Category
Displays the relative location of the additional setting in the instance (from the registry key tree).

Type
Displays the additional setting value type. For example, the value can be an integer or a string.

Value
Displays the value of the additional setting. Depending on the type, could be numerical, a character string or a boolean value.

Enable
Displays whether the additional setting is currently enabled or not.

Defined in
Lists the CommCell entity where the additional setting is defined.
Add
Click to add a new additional setting.
Edit
Select an additional setting and click Edit to modify it.
Delete
Select an additional setting and click Delete to remove it.

Note: In a clustered environment, you must specify the additional settings on the physical nodes (client computers), and not on the cluster server.

Name
Displays the name of the additional setting.

Category
Displays the relative location of the additional setting in the instance (from the registry key tree).

Type
Displays the additional setting value type. For example, the value can be an integer or a string.

Value
Displays the value of the additional setting. Depending on the type, could be numerical, a character string or a boolean value.

Displays whether the additional setting is currently enabled or not.

Lists the CommCell entity where the additional setting is defined.
Add
Click to add a new additional setting.
Edit
Select an additional setting and click Edit to modify it.
Delete

Lookup Additional Settings
Use this dialog box to find the additional setting you want to add for the selected component. Scroll down through the list or use the Find box to locate the additional setting.
Add and Edit Additional Settings on Windows and UNIX Clients
Use this dialog box to add a new additional setting or edit an existing one for the selected component.
Lookup
Click to open the additional setting (registry key) dictionary to search for the setting you are planning to add.

Name
Type the name of the additional setting.

Category
Type the relative location of the additional setting in the instance or select an existing location from the list.

Type
The following value types are available for Windows and Unix clients:

BOOLEAN
Assigns a string value to the additional setting. "True" and "False" are the available values for this type.

ENCRYPTED
Assigns a string type value that is encrypted when saved. This type is useful for setting passwords.

INTEGER
Assigns a numeric value type to the additional setting. This value is limited to 32 bits in length.

MULTISTRING
Assigns multiple lines of string value type to the additional setting.

STRING
Assigns a single line of string value type to the additional setting. "YES" or "NO" are commonly used string values. You can also use phrases, file paths, or complete sentences.

Value
Type the value of the additional setting. If you selected the additional setting from the Lookup window, select a valid value from the drop-down list.

Enabled
Select this option to enable or disable the additional setting.
