To back up and prune archive log files in batches, you can use the nMAXNUMBEROFLOGSPERBATCH additional setting. For example, if you set the nMAXNUMBEROFLOGSPERBATCH additional setting to 10000 and start the SAP on Oracle database backup operation, the Commvault software backs up the first 10000 files, prunes the archive log files that were backed-up, and then continues to back up and prune remaining files in batch size of 10000.
By default, the Commvault software prunes archive log files after the backup operation is complete.

To the SAP Oracle Agent computer, add the nMAXNUMBEROFLOGSPERBATCH additional setting as shown in the following table.
