When you configure a storage policy to optimize resource allocations, backups do not have to wait to find an available resource, increasing the overall job completion rate.
In a large CommCell with a high number of daily backup jobs, the CommServe will have many requests to allocate backup resources, which might lead to delays. For example, a SQL subclient might be configured to perform frequent log backups daily, and be delayed while waiting for resources to be allocated.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies | Storage Policies.

Right-click the storage policy, and then click Properties.

Click the Keep resource reservation cached for jobs on this storage policy check box.

Click OK.
