Configuring the Floating Host Name on a New CommServe or MediaAgent Host

You can configure a floating host name for a new CommServe host. In this procedure, the floating host name is configured by using the Windows DNS server.

Procedure

  1. Define the floating host name and map it to the IP address of the CommServe or MediaAgent host.

    For example, to define the floating host name create a DNS record with a virtual host name and IP address of the CommServe or MediaAgent host. For more information on creating a DNS record, refer to the documentation associated with DNS software implemented in your environment.

  2. To the client group, add the sCSINTERFACELIST additional setting as shown in the following table.

    Note

    All the clients within the client group must be in Service Pack 14 (or higher).
