Configuring the Number of Streams for Oracle Backups

Increase the number of streams used for backups for a particular subclient. The number of streams must not exceed the maximum number configured in the subclient storage policy. Increasing the number of streams for a subclient further reduces the amount of time a backup takes to complete. For example, increasing the number of streams from 2 to 3 enhances backup time from one-half that of a single stream to one-third.

Best Practice: The same number of streams used when performing a backup are needed to restore the data.

For more information on storage policy streams, see Storage Policy Streams.
