Commvault uses Informix ON-Bar utility to perform backup and restore operations. Full backups or level-0 backups include all the storage spaces (dbspaces, blobspaces, and sbspaces), logical-log files and critical administrative files like onconfig, sqlhosts, ixbar and oncfg files.
ON-Bar never backs up offline storage spaces, temporary dbspaces, or temporary sbspaces.
Incremental backup operation backs up all the changes in the storage spaces since the last backup and performs a level-0 backup of used logical log files.
To schedule an incremental backup operation to back up changes since the last level-0 backup, save the incremental level as 1 in the Subclient Properties dialog box. To schedule an incremental backup operation to back up changes since the last level-1 backup, save the incremental level as 2 in the Subclient Properties dialog box.
