You must create a network share client to perform archive operations on CIFS shares.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client.
The Add New Client dialog box appears.
-
From the File System ribbon, click the NAS/Network Share icon.
The Add NAS/Network Share Client dialog box appears.
-
In the Client Name box, type the non-NDMP network share client name.
-
In the Host Name box, type the fully qualified non-NDMP network share client name/IP.
-
In the Vendor box, select the file server from the list.
Note
-
If you select a NetApp or a Celerra file server, you must configure the recall settings required for the specific file server to recall the archived data later. If you select "Generic", File Share Archiver client or Explorer Plug-In is required to recall the stubs. For more information, see End-User Recalls for Network Shares.
-
To configure archiving for Azure files, select Generic as the Vendor type.
-
-
Select the Network Share check box, and then select the CIFS check box.
-
Click OK.
A pseudo network share client is created on the CommCell Console.
