Creating a Subclient for CIFS Shares of Azure NetApp Files

You can create a user-defined subclient to backup specific CIFS shares of Azure NetApp Files.

If the subclients for a file server contain some of the same content, then the Commvault software backs up each export individually. The default subclient does not back up the content that is contained in the other subclients within the same backup set.

Before You Begin

Ensure the following:

  • The data access node that will participate in the backup operation has the File System Agent and MediaAgent packages installed.

  • The access node has access to the Azure subscription.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > Azure NetApp Files client > Windows File System.

  2. Right-click the backup set, point to All Tasks, and then click New Subclient.

The New Subclient dialog box appears.

  3. In the Subclient Name box, type a name for the new subclient.
