Editing a Replication Schedule

You can edit a replication schedule to change the schedule pattern, to add or remove VMs, to select the validation option, or to select the overwrite option.

Note

To enable edits for all of the values in an existing replication schedule, add the nAllowLiveSyncEditConfig additional setting on the CommServe system as shown in the following table.

For instructions on adding additional settings from the CommCell Console, see Adding or Modifying an Additional Setting.

Property

Value

Name

nAllowLiveSyncEditConfig

Category

CommServDB.Console

Type

Boolean

Value

true

Procedure

  1. Right-click the backup set, and then select View > Schedules.

For replication schedules, the Type is Site Replication.

  2. Right-click the replication schedule, and then select Edit.

To delete a schedule, right-click the schedule, select Delete, and then confirm the deletion.

  3. On the Schedule Pattern tab, make changes as needed to the replication schedule.

  4. On the General tab, you can view configuration settings for the schedule.

The table in the center of the tab shows information for each instance, with volumes shown under each VM.

You can make changes to the following options:

    • To remove a virtual machine from a schedule that contains multiple VMs, select the virtual machine, and then click Remove VMs. After you remove a virtual machine from the schedule, it does not appear on the Replication Monitor.

If a schedule includes only one virtual machine, then you can delete the schedule to remove the VM from replication operations.

    • To add a virtual machine, click Add, and then provide configuration settings for the VM as described in Configuring Replication.

    • To update disk information for the source VM, click Refresh Disks.

    • Proxy Client

    • Validation Destination Instance (Power ON & OFF)

  5. To replicate changes from an auxiliary copy or backup copy:

    1. Click Advanced.

The Advanced Live Sync Options dialog box appears.

    2. On the Copy Precedence tab, select Restore from copy precedence, and then enter the number of the storage copy properties for the auxiliary copy or the backup copy.

When you configure replication to use an auxiliary copy or a backup copy, the replication operation reads data from the copy instead of reading from the primary backup.

Unless you have created the nAllowLiveSyncEditConfig additional setting as described above, you cannot change any other values for the schedule. To specify other replication options, you can also configure a new schedule as described in Configuring Replication.
