By default, the log files in the wal directory that are backed up during a backup operation are deleted after the backup job. If you want, you can avoid this by deselecting the Archive Delete check box.

The backup log file deletion is only supported for FSBased backups.

If archive_mode is set to always, the logs are archived on master and standby nodes. The backup operation will clean up logs from the node which is used to perform the log backup. Other nodes need to be cleaned up manually. From Commvault Platform Release 2024 (11.34), the backup operation will clean up logs from all the participating nodes, provided the Archive Delete option is enabled.

The Details tab is open.

Select the Archive Delete check box.
