Enhancing Oracle RAC Restore Performance

You can perform a restore operation faster when you set a maximum number of concurrent open datafiles for RMAN to read simultaneously.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client.

2. Right-click the instance, point to All Tasks and then click Browse and Restore.

3. Select Latest Backup and click View Content.

4. Select the database and click Recover All Selected.

5. Select the option for the type of restore operation, and then click Next.

   An Oracle restore options dialog box appears.

6. On the Oracle Restore Options dialog box, click Advanced.

7. On the Advanced Restore Options dialog box, on the Options tab, select the number of open files from the Max Open Files list.

8. Click OK.

9. Click OK.
