  • Using MediaAgents as data access nodes is recommended. If you do not plan to use MediaAgents as data access nodes, then the hardware requirements for the data access nodes are same as those required for file system clients.

  • You can add additional data access nodes based on the bandwidth load between the data access nodes (source) and the MediaAgents (destination). The data access nodes must be able to communicate with each other. For information about which Commvault ports to open, see Port Requirements.
