Getting Started with the OSDP 7-Mode Feature

Step 1: Review System and Licenses Requirements

Step 2: Install the Workflow Engine

The OSDP 7-Mode feature uses a replication workflow. To use the replication workflow, you must Install the Workflow Engine on the computer on which you plan to run the workflow.

Step 3: Configure Your Environment

To configure your environment for the OSDP 7-Mode feature, complete the following steps:

  1. Configure SnapVault.

  2. Create an OSDP 7-Mode storage policy.

  3. Set up the provisioning policy, and add and assign resource pools.

  4. Add the NetApp storage array in Array Management.

  5. Configure a backup copy.

  6. Associate subclients to the OSDP 7-Mode storage policy.

  7. Optional: If you plan to use SnapMirror, set up a Snapshot Copy for OSDP 7-Mode.

Step 4: Optimize your environment

Select the Optimized Scan method for Windows file system subclients.

Step 5: Run Your First Backup and Restore
