Migration to a NetApp CVO using SnapMirror

You can migrate your on-premises NetApp client to a NetApp CVO using SnapMirror. The Commvault archiving solution allows you to recall the archived data on the NetApp on-premises client.

Procedure

1. Create a new archiving client for Netapp CVO. For information on system requirements, see System Requirements for NetApp Archiving.

2. Perform SnapMirror activities to migrate the on-premises volumes on to the cloud NetApp CVO. For recalls to function properly, the target volumes on NetApp CVO should be made readable and writeable.

3. Perform recall of data on NetApp CVO.

4. Add the archive set or backupset on NetApp CVO client to archive or backup data as per the customer requirements.

5. Shutdown the source volume client backup and archiving jobs making sure no new data is generated.
