Modifying Auxiliary Copy Fallen Behind Settings

You can use the Modify Auxiliary Copy Fallen Behind Settings workflow to edit the auxiliary copy fallen behind alert settings on multiple storage policy copies. The workflow eliminates the manual process of individually editing the alert setting for multiple storage policy copies.

How Does it Work?

The workflow automatically modifies the settings that trigger the auxiliary copy fallen behind alert for all the selected storage policy copies.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Workflows.

  2. Download the workflow Modify Auxiliary Copy Fallen Behind Settings from the Commvault Store by following the instructions in Download Workflows from Commvault Store.

  3. Right-click Modify Auxiliary Copy Fallen Behind Settings, and then click All Tasks > Deploy.

  4. Right-click Modify Auxiliary Copy Fallen Behind Settings again, and then click All Tasks > Execute.

    The Modify Auxiliary Copy Fallen Behind Settings Option dialog box appears.

  5. Edit the options as per your requirements:

    • Click the Select All Storage Policies check box to modify the auxiliary copy fallen behind settings for all the storage policy copies associated with all the available storage policies.

    • Click the Update to be copied data size limit check box, and in the To be Copied data is over (TB) box type the data size.

      If the data to be copied exceeds the specified threshold, you will receive an alert.

    • Click the Update job days old limit check box, and in the Jobs older than days box type the number of days.

      If a backup job is not copied for more than specified number of days, an alert is triggered.

    • Click the Update hours to copy limit check box, and in the Hours to copy all data box type the number of hours.

      If the system predicts that the auxiliary copy operation will exceed the number of hours specified, an alert is triggered.

  6. Click OK.

    The Storage Policies dialog box appears.

  7. From the Storage Policy list, select the storage policies for which you want to modify the auxiliary copy fallen behind alert settings.

  8. Click OK.

    The Auxiliary Copies dialog box appears.

  9. From the Storage Policy Copies list, select the storage policy copies for which you want to modify the auxiliary copy fallen behind alert settings.

  10. Click OK.

Results

The registered user receives email alerts with a complete description of the workflow with details about the settings that are modified for the selected storage policy copies.
