Modifying the Data Access Nodes Associated with the Default Subclient

HBase supports both default and user-defined subclients. The default subclient backs up the entire HBase namespace, which contains all tables.

By default, the data access nodes that you configured at the instance level are associated with the default subclient. You can change the data access nodes that are associated with the default subclient.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > pseudoclient > Big Data Apps > instance > backup_set.

  2. Right-click the default subclient, and then click Properties.

The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Specify the basic settings for the subclient:

    1. On the Data Access Nodes tab, select the data access nodes that you want to add to the subclient, and then click Add.

    2. Optional: To select specific databases or tables to back up, on the Content tab, click Browse or Add Paths.

      Note

Do not change the default subclient content.

  4. On the Storage Device tab, from the Storage Policy list, select a storage policy.

  5. To create a new storage policy, click Create Storage Policy, and then follow the instructions in the storage policy creation wizard.

  6. To perform LAN-free backup operations and restore operations, select a grid storage policy.

For more information, see GridStor® (Alternate Data Paths) - Overview.

  7. Click OK.
