Modifying an Existing NFS or SMB Share from the CommCell Console

You can edit an existing network share to add or remove network clients that can access the exported NFS or SMB shares.

    • Backup set level

      1. From the CommCell Console, expand Client Computers > client > File System.

      2. Right-click the backup_set that contains the backup data, point to All Tasks, and then click Manage Network Share.

    • Subclient level

      1. From the CommCell Console, expand Client Computers > client > File System > backup_set.

      2. Right-click the subclient that contains the backup data, and then click Manage Network Share.

  2. Right-click the backup set or subclient that contains the backup data, and then click Manage Network Share.

The Network Share dialog box appears.

  3. To edit a specific network share, click the share name.

  4. Click Edit.

  5. For Linux MediaAgents, to modify the access to the NFS or SMB shares by network clients, in the Network Clients section, choose one of the following options:

    • To allow all network clients to access the share, click All Clients.

    • To allow specific network clients to access the share, click Custom, and enter the host name or the IP address of the network client.

Separate multiple host names or IP addresses with a comma (,).

You can also specify a subnet mask in CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) notation. For example, to give network share access to all network clients that have IP addresses in 192.168.0.0 subnet, enter 192.16.0.0/16.

  6. To remove a specific network client from accessing the share, click the host name or the IP address of the network client, and then click Delete.
