Monitoring the Deduplicated Storage Policy Copies

The Deduplicated Storage Policy Copy summary is useful to monitor the deduplication savings by Storage Policy Copy. It allows to determine the amount of data written on the disk and view the storage policy copy properties.

The total amount of that was backed up

The amount of deduplicated data that was written on the disk

The amount of deduplication savings by a storage policy copy

Free Space (GB) on Library

The amount of free space that is available on the library that is associated with the storage policy copy

Retention Days

The number of days that you want to retain the backed up data

Retention Cycles

The number of full backup cycles that you want to retain

Charts

The Charts contain the following information:

  • The Data Written by Storage Policy Copy graph displays the amount of application data and the data written on a disk.

  • The Deduplication Savings by DDB graph displays the amount of savings of each DDB, including Sealed DDB, for that storage policy copy.

Deduplication Engine Name

The name of the deduplication database

Creation Time

The date and time when the deduplication database was created for that storage policy copy

Baseline Size

The estimated size that is required on the disk for backup data when the existing deduplication database is sealed

Total Application Size

The size of the backed up data before deduplication

Total Data Size on Disk

The amount of deduplicated data that was written on the disk

Deduplication Savings

The amount of deduplication savings by a storage policy copy

Number of Partitions

The total number of partitions that are configured on the deduplication database

Average Q&I Time (μs)

The average time (in micro seconds) that was taken for insertion and query of signature in the deduplication database

Total number of Unique Blocks

The number of unique blocks that are managed by the DDB for that storage policy copy

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Storage Resources>Deduplication Engines.

  2. Select the appropriate storage policy copy.

    A tab for the summary opens in the CommCell Console.

    Also, to view properties of a storage policy copy, right-click the storage policy/storage policy copy, and then click Properties.
