Use this dialog to create or change an instance of a predefined network topology that connects client groups, either directly or through a network gateway.
Topology Name
The name for this instance of the topology. This must be a unique name within the CommCell environment.
Description
A text description of the topology.
Client Type
The type of clients associated with the topology. Select either Servers or Laptops, as follows:
Servers
Topology Type
The type of topology for this instance.

Network Gateway
Select this option to configure connections between clients from inside and outside the network through the network gateway client group.

One-Way
Select this option to configure clients from outside the network to initiate connections with clients (inside the network) on restricted ports.

Two-way
Select this option to allow clients from inside and outside the network to initiate connections between each other on restricted ports.
Servers
In a network gateway topology, clients in this group are outside the network and are designated to initiate direct connections with clients in the Infrastructure machines group.
Infrastructure machines
In a network gateway topology, clients in this group are inside the network and are designated to receive connection requests from clients in the Servers group. The clients in this group cannot initiate connections with clients in the Servers group.
Network gateways
In a network gateway topology, the client group that is designated as the network gateway group for connections.
Infrastructure machines
In a one-way topology, clients in this group are outside the network and are designated to initiate direct connections with clients in the Network gateways group.
DMZ Servers
In a one-way topology, clients in this group are inside the network and are designated to receive connection requests from clients in the Servers group.
Servers
In a two-way topology, clients in this group can initiate direct connections to clients that are members of Infrastructure machines group.
Infrastructure machines
In a two-way topology, clients in this group can initiate direct connections to clients that are members of Servers group.
Force Servers to use network gateways for all traffic
In a network gateway topology, this option forces clients in the Servers group to use the chosen Network gateways group to communicate with all hosts, including the CommServe server and MediaAgent hosts. This option is not selected by default.
Encrypt network traffic
This option encrypts the tunnel created by the topology.

In a network gateway topology, the client group that is designated as the network gateway group for connections.
Laptops
In a one-way topology, clients in this group are outside the network and are designated to initiate direct connections with clients in the Infrastructure machines group.

In a one-way topology, clients in this group are inside the network and are designated to receive connection requests from clients in the Laptops group.
Laptops will automatically use network gateways to connect to all Infrastructure clients
In a network gateway topology, this option forces clients in the Laptops group to use the chosen Network gateways group to communicate with all hosts, including the CommServe server and MediaAgent hosts. This option is selected by default.
