You can use the Linux File System agent to protect the file system supported by the OES Linux Operating System. For NSS volumes to preserve the trustee information and permissions, you must enable the Linux extended attributes (XAttr) option prior to running a backup job. For more information on enabling the XAttr option, see the Novell documentation site. At the time of restore, you must select the Restore ACLs option to restore the trustee information and permissions along with the data.
Note
On Novell Storage Services (NSS) volumes, the Commvault software cannot back up files or directories whose names contain unsupported characters, such as emojis. Because the NSS file system does not support these characters, the file metadata operation (stat) fails and the affected items are not backed up. For information about supported characters and naming conventions on NSS volumes, see Naming NSS Storage Objects in the Open Enterprise Server documentation.
GroupWise 2012/2014/2014 R2
To back up GroupWise 2012/2014/2014 R2 databases that reside on NSS volumes or non-NSS volumes, use the Linux File System Agent. Create a new subclient and configure it to point to the exact path of the GroupWise 2012/2014/2014 R2 databases.
