When you run an archive operation on a standalone client or a member node that is a part of a cluster, the files that meet the archiving rules are backed up and stubbed depending on the following factors:
-
Delayed Stubbing is enabled on clients
-
Redundancy check is enabled for files that qualify for archiving
Before You Begin
When you archive files that are smaller than 1234 bytes, the size of the archived file (stub) is 1234 bytes.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > network_share_client > File System >archive_set.
-
Right-click the appropriate subclient, and then click Backup.
The Backup Options dialog box appears.
Archiving works in a forever incremental model, so only the Incremental option is enabled.
Note
For archive subclients, the first job is converted to a Full backup job. Differential backups are not supported.
-
In the Job initiation area, specify whether to run the backup job immediately or to scheduled it.
-
Click OK.
After your backup job completes, files that meet the archiving rules are stubbed.
