If a disaster or mount path loss occurs, you can recover data from the secondary copy.
Before You Begin
Run a full data verification job on a deduplication database (DDB) that is created on the primary copy and assess the damage.
You must delete the jobs for which data verification has failed on the primary copy so that the jobs can be read from the secondary copy. For more information, see Validate Backups for Data Recovery.
Procedure
-
If necessary, recover the index server from the secondary copy.
-
Restore SharePoint Server data from the secondary copy.
What to Do Next
For seamless backup and recovery, create a tertiary disk copy, perform auxiliary copies of all the valid jobs to the tertiary copy, and then promote the tertiary copy to be the primary copy.
