Reference Copy - Performing a Backup

You can perform a reference copy backup.

1. In the CommCell Browser, click Client Computers | <Reference_Copy_Client> | File System | defaultBackupSet.

2. Right-click the default subclient and then click Backup.

3. Select the Immediate option to run the job now, and then click OK.

4. Once the job has completed, you can view its details by right-clicking the subclient and then clicking Backup History. Specify any options you like, and then click OK.

5. Right-click the job to perform the following tasks:

   • Browse and restore

   • Find backed up items

   • Resubmit the job

   • View the job's details

   • View media associated with the job

   • View events

   • View backup items

   • View logs

   • Send logs

6. To view detailed information about a completed run of a reference copy subclient, click View Job details.

   The Status tab, below the subclient list, shows the following summary information:

   • Total Subclients. The number of subclients configured to be backed up.

   • Pending Subclients. The number of subclients currently in Pending state.

   • Successful Subclients. The number of subclients whose backups succeeded.

   • Skipped Subclients. The number of subclients whose backups were skipped.

   • Failed Subclients. The number of subclients that were not backed up.

   • Partial Subclients. The number of subclients for which only some, not all, data was backed up before the job stopped running.

   The Status tab also provides the following information:

   • The client and subclient names

   • The backupset to which the subclient belongs

   • The status of the job

   • Failure reasons
