Renaming a Sybase Database

You can rename user databases during a restore operation. The new database names must be unique and follow the Sybase Identifier rules. When you rename databases, make sure that the tables in the databases are not referencing to or referenced by tables in any other databases.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Sybase.

  2. Right-click the instance, point to All Tasks, and then click Browse and Restore.

The Browse and Restore dialog box appears.

  3. Click View Content.

  4. Select the databases that you want to restore, and click Recover All Selected.

The Restore Options dialog box appears.

  5. On the General tab, select the Rename databases check box, and then click Advanced.

  6. On the Options tab, in the row for the database that you want to rename, click the Target Database column, and enter a new name.

  7. Click OK.
