In a DB2 pureScale environment, the following needs to be taken into account before performing a restore.
For a data-only restore, only one node needs to be available. The default node that is chosen is the last one that the software used for a backup or restore. Use the following steps to see which node will be used by default:
-
From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers > client > DB2MultiNode > instance.
-
Right-click the backup_set.
-
The Catalog Partition No. on the Properties dialog box displays the node.
To change the node priority.
-
From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers > client > DB2MultiNode > instance > backup_set.
-
Right-click the subclient and click Properties.
-
On the Properties dialog box, navigate to the Data Storage Policy tab under the Storage Device tab.
-
In the box, select the row corresponding to the node that the software should try first and click the up arrow button.
-
Click OK.
-
All nodes must be available for a data and log restore, or a log restore, because each node maintains its own transaction log.
