Restore Options for All Selected Items (Convert VM to Amazon)

When converting a virtual machine to Amazon, provide the following information:

Amazon Key

Select the Amazon virtualization client that was created with appropriate access keys for the AWS account.

Proxy Client

By default, the proxy that was used for the backup is selected. You can select a different proxy from the list.

VM destination parameters

The table shows location parameters for VMs being converted.

  • VM and Disk

The VM and Disk column shows the name of the virtual machine and lists virtual machine disks.

  • Change VM display name

Enter a new name for the destination VM.

If you specify the same name as an existing VM and select the Unconditionally overwrite VM and VHDs in destination path option, the existing virtual machine will be replaced by the converted VM only if it is the only VM with that name in the Amazon account. If there are multiple VMs with the same name, or if you do not select the overwrite option, the restore job goes pending. You cannot submit a restore job that contains multiple VMs with the same name.

  • Availability Zone

From this list, select the availability zone where the virtual machine should be imported. Availability zones are provided through your Amazon account.

  • Amazon Bucket

From this list, select a bucket for the virtual machine disks. Buckets are logical containers that provide secure access to objects (such as virtual machine disks).

  • Instance Type

From this list, select an instance type that provides the available CPU cores and memory for the virtual machine. If you choose Auto (the default option), the instance type is selected based on the corresponding settings for the source VM.

  • Operating System

Select Windows 64-bit, Windows 32-bit, or Linux 64-bit to match the operating system of the source VM. If necessary, you can select Auto to automatically detect the operating system of the source VM.

Power ON Virtual Machine after restore

Select this option to power on the converted VM automatically after it is created in Amazon.

Unconditionally overwrite VM and VHDs in destination path

If you are replacing an existing VM in Amazon, select this option to overwrite the existing VM and its disks and replace them with the newly converted VM and disks. The overwrite option succeeds only if there is a single VM in Amazon with the same name; if there are multiple VMs with the same name, the job goes pending.
