Restore Options for Amazon

Use this dialog box to specify restore options for an Amazon VM.

Virtualization Client

Displays the virtualization client for the AWS account.

Proxy Client

By default, the preferred VSA proxy for the virtualization client is used for the restore. If you select a proxy that is outside of Amazon, the restore uploads volume information to S3 and uses the volumes to create the instance.

Restore in place

To restore out of place, clear this check box. By default, an instance is restored to the original location. The Instance and Volume column shows the source instances with volumes underneath each instance.

Instance and Volume

This column displays the list of all instances and volumes selected for restore. Expand each instance to view the volumes in that instance.

Change Instance name to

This column displays the existing name of each instance. To change the name of any instance, click in the corresponding row and enter the new name.

Availability Zone

Select the destination zone.

Settings

To specify other options, select one or more instances, then click Configure under the Amazon Options column to display the Amazon Cloud Options dialog box.

In the Amazon Cloud Options dialog box, you can provide the following information:

  • Instance Display Name - Displays the name of the instance.

  • Availability Zone - Select the destination zone.

  • Security Groups - Select a security group.

  • Network: Select an EC2 or VPC network for the restored instances. For a VPC network, specify the subnet and network interfaces under Network Interface.

  • Network Interface: If you selected a VPC network from the Network list, specify the primary and secondary network interfaces:

    • Network Interface1 – For the primary network interface, select a Subnet for the specified network and a Network Interface.

      When restoring to a VPC network, select New Network Interface from the Network Interface list.

    • Network Interface2 – For the secondary network interface, select a Subnet for the specified network and a Network Interface.

Power ON Instance after Restore

Select this option to power on the instance after the restore completes.

Unconditionally overwrite Instance with the same name

Select this option to overwrite an existing instance with the same name.

Save as Script

Click to open the Save As Script dialog, which allows you to save this operation and the selected options as a script file (in XML format). The script can later be executed from the Command Line Interface using qoperation execute command.
