Prior to restoring the database to a different server on the different client, make sure the operating system on the source and destination clients are the same.
Note
It is assumed that the data directory path and tablespace location in the source and destination clients are the same. If they are different, then redirect the data directory to a different path by performing a redirect restore operation.
Before You Begin
-
Source and destination PostgreSQL server version should be the same.
-
Make sure to delete or rename the data directory, user tablespace directory, archive log directory and transaction log directory that is outside the data directory.
-
Make sure to stop the destination server.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, navigate to <Client> | PostgreSQL.
-
Right-click the <Instance> and then click All Tasks | Restore PostgreSQL Server.
-
Select the destination server on a different client from the Destination Server list.
-
Click OK.
