Applies to: Exchange 2007
If you did not enable VSS before you performed a backup, you can define the restore destination for databases and transaction logs.
Caution
This procedure applies to non-VSS backups only.
There are several methods for restoring transaction logs:
-
To a separate location
-
From the last backup cycle
-
Simultaneously with databases as they are restored (transaction logs are restored only, and not replayed)
Before You Begin
Transaction log files are stored temporarily in the Job Results directory during a restore. Before you restore the transaction log files, make sure that the Job Results directory has enough free space to store all the files. Otherwise, the restore will fail.
