Restoring Imported Data from ObjectStore

If you imported third-party backup vendor archives to Commvault ObjectStore using the Third-Party migration app prior to Platform Release 2024e (11.36), you can restore the imported data from Object Store using the Command Center.

Before You Begin

  • Log on to the Command Center using the user account associated with the objectstore client used for the migration.

  • The migration user may lack the necessary permissions for the Data Import application. Verify that the appropriate access rights have been assigned.

Procedure

  1. Import the Data Import app to the Command Center. For more information, see Importing an App.

  2. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Data Import.

  3. On the top-right corner of the Data Import report page, click Restore.

    A list of archived clients that contain the imported data is displayed.

  4. To download the files to your local computer, browse and select the files, and then click Download.

  5. To view all the versions of a specific file, click View Versions.

  6. To restore the files , browse and select the files that you want to restore, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options window appears.

  7. In the Destination list, select the client computer where you want to restore the imported data.

    The drop-down list includes all the clients that are associated with the user.

  8. In the Destination path box, type the location where you want to restore the data. You can also provide a network path as the destination location.

  9. To overwrite the existing file or folder in the original destination path, select the Unconditionally overwrite if it already exists checkbox.

  10. If the destination path is a network or NFS share, specify a user account with sufficient permissions to access the share by moving the Impersonate User toggle key to the right, and then entering a User name and Password.

  11. To receive an email notification when the restore is complete, select Notify user on job completion checkbox.

  12. Click Restore.

    To track the status of the restore job, from the navigation pane, click Monitor > Jobs > Active jobs.
