Restoring a MySQL Database That Is Hosted in the Google Cloud

You can restore MySQL databases in the Google cloud to the same instance as the backup or to a different instance. You can perform the restore operation from the Google virtualization client computer.

Note

You can only restore user-defined databases. System databases are not restored.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers > client > MySQL.

  2. Right-click the instance, and then click All Tasks > Browse and Restore.

    The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

  3. On the Time Range tab, select the backup that you want to restore:

    • To restore the most recent backup, select Latest Backup.

    • To restore to a point-in-time, select Time Range, and then in the Start and End boxes, type the date and time.

  4. Click View Content.

  5. On the Browse page, select the data to restore:

    1. Select the check box for each database that you want to restore.

    2. Click Recover All Selected.

    The Restore Options dialog box appears.

  6. On the General tab, from the Destination client list, select the client that you want to restore the data to.

  7. Click OK.
