Restoring OpenStack Swift Data Cross-Cloud Using a Configured Instance

You can restore the OpenStack Swift data cross-cloud using a configured instance, for example, to a different Oracle Cloud account.

Before You Begin

  1. Create a subclient.

  2. Perform a backup on the subclient.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Cloud Apps > instance.

  2. Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.

    The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

  3. Click View Content.

  4. Select the data that you want to restore, and click Recover All Selected.

    The Restore Options dialog box appears.

  5. On the General tab, provide the destination information:

    1. Under Restore Destination, click Cloud.

    2. From the Destination Client list, select any cloud storage virtual client (such as Oracle Cloud, Amazon S3, Azure Blob etc.).

    3. From the Destination Instance list, select the respective destination cloud storage instance.

    4. In the Number of Streams box, type the number of streams to use for the restore operation.

    5. In the Destination Path box, type the full restore location path.

  6. On the Job Initiation tab, specify whether to run the restore now or if it will be scheduled.

    Note If you selected Schedule, set up the schedule.

  7. Click OK.

    To monitor the progress of the restore job, see Job Controller.
