Applies to: Archives that are in the native format or parquet format
Apply a query to the database so that you can restore a subset of the data.
This procedure restores the archive to a database.
Note
When you have an archive in the parquet format, the number of archived rows that the browse window displays is equal to the rows that match the archive criteria, and any additional rows that are selected as part of the foreign key relationship.
Before You Begin
If you want to restore to a database that is not the source database:

Ensure that all the archive database prerequisites are met. For more information, see Prerequisites.

Configure an instance on the staging database. For more information, see Instances for Oracle.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers> client> Oracle > instance.

Right-click the subclient, point to All Tasks, and then click Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

Click View Content.

On the Current Selected pane, select the data that you want to restore.

To restore one data version, in the right pane, select the table to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.

To restore multiple data versions:

Right click the table to restore in the right pane, and then select View All Versions.

On the All versions of dialog box, specify the restore version:

To restore all listed versions, click Restore All.

To restore a particular version, select the version, and then click Restore.

The Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the General tab:

To redirect the data, in the Redirect Path box, type the new path.

Optional: Restore to a different database:

From the Destination Client list, select the staging database host.

From the Database Name list, select the staging database name.

In the Connect Details boxes, type the string that you use to connect to the staging database.

Click Advanced.
The Advanced Restore Options dialog box is displayed.

If the archive is in the native format, do the following:

Click Advanced.
The Advanced Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the Import Options tab, specify the restore options:

Check the Import data into source table check box.

In the Apply Query while importing Data Into source table box, type the query that you want use to determine the tables to restore.

Click OK.

Click OK.
The Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the Job Initiation tab, specify whether to run the restore now or if it will be scheduled.
Note: If you selected Schedule, set up the schedule.

Click OK to close the Restore Options dialog box.
