You can restore the virtual machine configuration and disk (VHD) files to the file system of the designated access node (also called the proxy).
Restore virtual machine files in the following situations:

The virtual machine is running, but one of its disk has errors.

The storage device that hosts the disks has errors or not available.
Procedure

From the CommCell Console, go to Client Computers > virtualization_client > Virtual Server > Azure.

Right-click the backup set that contains the data to restore and select All Tasks > Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the Virtual Server tab, select Virtual Machine files, and then click View Content.

On the Content tab, select a virtual machine.
The configuration and VHD files of the virtual machine are displayed in the right pane.

Select the required VHD files from the right pane.

Click Recover All Selected at the bottom of the window.
The Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box appears.

Provide the following information:

Proxy Client: Select a new proxy to change the target machine for the restore.
By default, VHD files are restored to the same proxy that was used to back up the virtual machine.

Specify destination path: Browse to select the folder where files should be restored.
If you are restoring to a Windows proxy client, you can enter a UNC path and provide the credentials for the target client using the Impersonate User option.

Impersonate User: To perform the operation using a different user account, enter the user name and password.
