Restoring Volumes from Block-Level Backups

You can browse and select a volume that is to be restored on a tape or disk media. Note that the destination volume must be at least as large as the volume from which the data was backed up. This is true regardless of the amount of data that is actually restored. For more information about block-level backups, see Block-Level Backups.

Caution

  • Do not run a volume-level restore if the destination volume has operating system files. Volume-level restores overwrite the destination volume.

  • If you have system state components on the volume that is to be restored, do not perform volume-level restores.
