Running the Auxiliary Copy to Create the NetApp Open Replica Copy

Complete the following steps to replicate snapshots on the NetApp storage array, with the NetApp Open Replication feature.

Before You Begin

To replicate snapshots with the NetApp Open Replication feature, you need a storage policy that contains a vault/replica or mirror copy. If you have not yet done so, create a secondary snapshot copy according to the Configuration Process.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies > Storage Policies.

2. Right-click the storage policy, point to All Tasks, and then click Run Auxiliary Copy.

   The Auxiliary Copy Job Options dialog box appears.

3. In the Copy Selection area, select Select A Copy, and then from the Select A Copy list, select the vault/replica or mirror copy.

4. Click OK.

Result

You can track the progress of the job from the Job Controller. When the auxiliary copy operation is complete, the snapshots will be accessible from the secondary snapshot copies.
