Running the Auxiliary Copy to Create the Open Replica Copy

Complete the following steps to replicate snapshots on the storage virtual machine (SVM) array, with the Open Replication feature for Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP.

Before You Begin

To replicate snapshots with the Open Replication feature, you need a storage policy that contains a vault/replica or mirror copy. If you have not yet done so, create a secondary snapshot copy as mentioned in the Configuration Process.

The Use Scalable Resource Allocation option is required to complete Open Replication job. The option is selected by default.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies > Storage Policies.

2. Right-click the storage policy, point to All Tasks, and then click Run Auxiliary Copy.

   The Auxiliary Copy Job Options dialog box appears.

3. In the Copy Selection area, select Select A Copy, and then from the Select A Copy list, select the vault/replica or mirror copy.

4. Click OK.
