Sending Log Files, SAPARCH and SAPBACKUP Directory Contents

The send logs feature collects the following data:

  • the log files

  • the SAPARCH folder

  • the SAPBACKUP folder

You can perform this operation for the job or the client.

If you run this at the job level, the software collects all the SAPARCH and the SAPBACKUP folder content that was modified from the (job start time - 7 days and the job end time +7 days).

If you run this at the client level, the software collects all the SAPARCH and the SAPBACKUP folder content that was modified from the (job start time - 7 days) for all the CommCell Console SAP for Oracle instances. You can change the number of days by setting the nExcludeSAPLogsOlderThanNDays additional setting.

Note: If the client runs the HP-UX operating system, the SAPARCH directory contents and SAPBACKUP directory contents are not collected and sent.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the client, and then click Properties:

    The Client Properties dialog box is displayed.

  2. On the Additional Settings tab, click Add.

    The Add Additional Settings dialog box is displayed.

  3. Enter the details for the additional setting:

    1. In the Name box, type nExcludeSAPLogsOlderThanNDays.

    2. In Category box, select OracleSapAgent.

    3. In the Type box, select Integer.

    4. In Value box, type the number of days that you want the log files saved and sent.

    5. Click OK to close the Add Additional Settings dialog box.

  4. Click OK to close the Client Properties dialog box.
