Set Up the Array Information for NetApp C-Mode Filer

Applicable to: C-Mode Filer

You must add the NetApp C-mode array in Array Management.

Procedure

  1. On the ribbon in the CommCell Console, click the Storage tab, and then click Array Management.

  2. In the Array Management dialog box, click Add.

    Important: Use the same Vserver name or IP address that was used to configure the NAS client. The Vserver name or IP address must be DNS resolvable.

  3. In the Filer Properties dialog box, specify the basic settings for the file server:

    1. In the Snap Vendor box, select NetApp.

    2. In the Name box, enter the name of the Vserver.

    3. Under the Credentials area, click Change and in the Enter User Name and Password dialog box, enter the user credentials that have the VSAdmin role and ONTAPi/SSH application. If you do not have such credentials, run the following commands:

      nacluster1::> security login create -vserver nac1vs2 -user-or-group-name abc -application ontapi$ -authmethod $[password$ 
      Please enter a password for user '<username>': 
      Please enter it again: 
      nacluster1::> security login create -vserver $[nac1vs2 -user-or-group-name abc -application ssh -authmethod password
      1. In the User Name box, enter the name of the admin user (abc as given in the example) on the Vserver.

      2. Click OK.

    4. Click the Snap Configuration tab, select or clear the Use Tunneling check box.

      Note

      If you select the Use Tunneling check box, the user account used during the array configuration must have the VSAdmin role on the vserver and ONTAPi/SSH application.

    5. Click OK.
