You can set an affinity for Commvault processes. This is also referred to as CPU pinning.
Procedure

To the client computer, add the appropriate additional setting as shown in the following table.

To set an affinity for all processes, add All_AffinityMask.

To set an affinity for a specific process, add process_name_AffinityMask. Replace process_name with the name of the process, for example, cvd_AffinityMask.
Note
If you set process_name_AffinityMask for a specific process, it overrides All_AffinityMask for the specified process. For example, for the CVD process, cvd_AffinityMask set to 1 overrides All_AffinityMask set to 4.

The CPUs the process will execute on. Match the value to the CPU number, for example, enter 0 for CPU 0. Use a comma to separate multiple values, for example: 1,4,7.
Valid values are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7.
