Setting the Retention Days for Content Indexed Data

By default, the content indexes are pruned along with the data based on the data retention rules. In the procedure, you retain the content indexes for a specific number of days and prune them before the data is pruned.

1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Policies | Storage Policies.

2. Right-click the <Storage Policy> that is enabled for Content Indexing, and then click Properties.

   The Storage Policy Properties dialog box appears.

3. Click the Content Indexing tab.

4. Click the Retention subtab.

5. Click Retain for n Days, and then specify the number of days that the content index will be retained from the start of the backup job.

   If the specified number of days is greater than the retention days set for the backup job, then the index is pruned along with the backed up data.

6. Click OK.
