Using Region-Based Backups for SAP HANA System Replication

In a SAP HANA system replication setup, if the primary and secondary nodes are located on different regions, you can configure the backups to use the storage policy that has libraries that are local to the region of the current primary (source) node.

Procedure

1. For each region, create a dedicated client computer group, and add the SAP HANA clients to the groups in their region. For more information, see Creating a Client Computer Group.

2. To the client computer group, add the EnableRegionBasedBackups additional setting as shown in the following table.

4. On the Storage device tab for each dedicated client computer group, assign a storage policy that is for the same region.
