For subclients that contain data and archive logs, you can choose to run an IntelliSnap backup of only the data volume by configuring the logs to use RMAN. When using RMAN, the log backup will use the traditional backup method.Use this backup method in the following scenarios:

The log volume is located on a non snap-able device.

The instance containing the archive logs in the RAC database is not shared.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand <Client> | Oracle RAC > instance

Right-click the subclient, and then click Properties.
The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

On the IntelliSnap Operations tab and select the IntelliSnap check box.

On the Log Backup tab, select Use RMAN for Log Backup.

Click OK.
