Symptom
When a backup operation is performed on a VMware vCenter client, new events and tasks are added to the vCenter database. If events and tasks cannot be added to the database, the vCenter Server becomes unstable during the backup operation.
Resolution
This is a VMware known issue. To resolve this, follow the instructions given in the VMware KB article or contact VMware Support.
