Workflow - Update Media Location

Use this workflow to update media location in bulk. This workflow is useful to update the media location for media that are brought back from off-site storage.

The workflow can be setup in one of the following ways:

  • On-Demand - Run the workflow on-demand if there are multiple locations and the media has to be updated with the appropriate location.

  • Run Infinitely - Use this option if all the media is stored in a specific location. (The workflow will automatically run whenever new media is added to the input file.)

Before You Begin

  • Ensure that you have Commvault software version V11 with Service Pack 11 or higher on the CommServe server and MediaAgents to which the library is attached.

  • The barcodes associated with the media that needs to be updated are recorded in a .txt file. (This can be recorded automatically from the barcode scanner or manually added to the .txt file.)

  • The .txt file is saved in the CommServe computer.

  • Predefined export location(s) are added in the CommCell. See Adding an Export Location to add a new location.
