Adding a DB2 MultiNode Instance

To back up a group of DB2 MultiNode databases, create a client and an instance for the databases.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database Overview page appears.

  2. Click Add instance > Database server.

    The Configure Database Instance dialog box appears.

  3. Select DB2 MultiNode, and then click Next.

    The Add DB2 MultiNode instance dialog box appears.

  4. In the DB2 MultiNode name box, type a name for the client that serves as a logical grouping of DB2 MultiNode or DB2 pureScale database partitions that are housed on physical servers.

  5. In the Instance name box, type a name for the instance.

  6. From the Plan list, select the backup plan to use for the instances and databases.

    The backup plan specifies how the software backs up the instances and databases.

  7. Under DB2 user account section, from the Credential list, select a saved credential. You can also add a credential as per requirement.

  8. To add a DB2 partition node, click Add.

    The Add DB2 partition node dialog box appears.

    1. From the Server name list, select the server for the partition.

    2. In the DB2 home box, type the full path to the DB2 home directory on the server.

    3. Click Add.

  9. Click Add.
