For Commvault Cloud-hosted infrastructure, MSPs can simplify infrastructure management using resource pools.
To efficiently allocate and manage compute resources for Salesforce, you can create a dedicated workload resource pool. For each region and solution type, you can have only one workload resource pool. You can modify the properties of a workload resource pool.
Prerequisites
-
Add a Connected App or External Client App in Salesforce. You must have the Salesforce consumer key and the Salesforce consumer secret that are generated when you add the connected or external client app.
-
To connect to Salesforce, only the OAuth authentication is supported. This requires providing the Salesforce consumer key and consumer secret. Port 443 must be open for one-way communication between the Web Server and Salesforce Cloud.
For existing and new Salesforce org configurations in Commvault Long-Term Support Release 11.40 and later environments, OAuth authentication is mandatory. Username-password authentication is not supported, and any existing configurations must be migrated to OAuth.
To add a resource pool, follow these steps:
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.
-
Click the Resource pools tile.
-
Click Add > Workload.
-
For Name, enter a name for the resource pool.
-
From the Region list, select the region for the workload resource pool.
-
From the Solution type list, select Salesforce.
-
From the Access node list, select the access nodes group to use for the resource pool.
-
Under Additional properties, do the following:
-
For Download cache path, enter the path to use for the backup cache.

The user must have permissions to access the database.
